We tend to associate magnetism with technologies such as electric motors, loudspeakers and everyday electronics, but not with crystals. Yet minerals such as Garnet, Tourmaline and Malachite contain trace elements that produce distinct magnetic responses. This subtle property adds an important dimension to their energetic influence, whether used in crystal healing or within orgonite-style pyramids and pendants.
Research with powerful neodymium magnets has changed that picture completely. Recent magnetic susceptibility studies have shown that a large percentage of gemstones display measurable attraction or repulsion. They sit within a spectrum from gently repelled by a magnet, through softly attracted, all the way to “will visibly drag or stick to a magnet”. The Magnetic Susceptibility Index (2010) was compiled by gem researcher Kirk Feral based on systematic neodymium-magnet testing. This tracks how strongly different gemstones respond to a magnet and correlates that with their chemistry. It is one of the most detailed open-access datasets currently available on gemstone magnetism.
These properties are important for 2 reasons:
At Quantum Vortex Orgone, this magnetic science is treated as part of the design language. The crystals used for healing and incorporation within advanced orgone devices are chosen not only for their piezoelectric & metaphysical properties, but also for their magnetic properties and how this interacts with layered metals, piezoelectric charge and neodymium magnets.
This article explores what diamagnetic, paramagnetic and strongly magnetic crystals actually are, how they interact with the human body and biofield, and finally how key magnetic minerals such as Magnetite, Haematite, Malachite and Pyrite behave within orgone devices engineered for effectiveness against EMFs such as 5G, WiFi and Smart Meters.
At the heart of magnetism are electrons. Every atom carries electrons that spin and orbit in specific patterns. When all the electrons are paired, the tiny magnetic fields they generate mostly cancel out. When there are unpaired electrons, those tiny fields can align with an external magnetic field and create magnetic attraction.
The way those electrons are arranged determines which broad category a material falls into.
One important nuance in modern magnetism research is the “push–pull” nature of real crystals. Every gemstone is made of a largely diamagnetic host lattice with a sprinkling of paramagnetic ions. The host is gently repelled. The metal ions are gently attracted. What you see in practice is whichever force is stronger. In strongly coloured, iron-rich stones the pull of the paramagnetic ions wins and the gem moves toward the magnet. In pale, low-metal stones the diamagnetic host dominates and the stone will be repelled or appear inert.
The same metals that give gems their colour often give them their magnetism. Iron content can make Garnet red, Aquamarine blue or Peridot green, and can create strong paramagnetic responses. Manganese can produce rich oranges and pinks and sometimes creates highly magnetic species such as Spessartine Garnet. Copper gives blue and green to Turquoise, Malachite, Chrysocolla and Dioptase and can contribute significant magnetism when present in high concentrations in its paramagnetic form.
The key point for healers and energy workers is that magnetism is not all or nothing. It is a spectrum. That position on the magnetic spectrum impacts how a crystal interacts with a magnet, and thus, how strongly it is likely to interact with electromagnetic fields and the human biofield.
For a healer or energy worker, the question becomes less “is this stone magnetic or not?” and more “how does this stone’s quiet push–pull with magnetic fields contribute to the way it interacts with my body and/or with the devices it is placed in?”
At Quantum Vortex Orgone, that question is central. Crystal choice for an orgone matrix is based not only on piezoelectricity, chakras and metaphysical archetypes, but also on magnetic susceptibility and how this influences the way a device draws in EMF-heavy environmental energy, then transmutes and re-emits it as harmonised, healing frequencies.
The human body is a complex blend of diamagnetic and paramagnetic materials. Most soft tissues and water-rich structures are weakly diamagnetic. Blood, with its iron-containing haemoglobin, carries a paramagnetic component. Mineral-rich bone and connective tissue add further subtleties.
Externally applied magnetic fields can influence this system in many ways. Clinical magnetic therapies use carefully shaped fields to shift circulation, nerve firing and tissue oxygenation. On a subtler level, EMF fields from Wi-Fi, phones and 5G towers create constantly shifting electromagnetic textures that many sensitive people feel as agitation, heaviness or a fuzzy lack of clarity.
Crystals that contain paramagnetic metals and show measurable magnetic susceptibility can act as tiny local modifiers of these fields. They concentrate or redirect magnetic flux lines, absorb or scatter aspects of electromagnetic noise, and create microenvironments where the balance of diamagnetic and paramagnetic influences is slightly different from the surroundings. In practice, people often describe this as certain stones feeling grounding, settling, clarifying or buffering, especially when they are black, iron-rich or copper-rich.
When such crystals are used in isolation the effect is local and relatively soft. When they are locked under compression in an orgone matrix alongside neodymium magnets, layered metals and piezoelectric stones, the same magnetic qualities become part of a much more dynamic system.
A genuine orgone device is not simply “crystals in resin”. It is a structured field engine. The resin contracts as it cures and holds piezoelectric crystals like Quartz and Tourmaline under constant pressure. Those crystals generate subtle electrical potentials. Layered ferromagnetic and non-magnetic metals accumulate and reflect electromagnetic charge. Sacred-measure coils organise that charge into coherent flow. Neodymium magnets create persistent, coherent magnetic fields that thread through the whole structure.
The result is an orgone matrix that pulls in chaotic EMFs and stagnant life force, processes them and breathes out a more ordered, life-supportive field, as explored in detail in the Quantum Vortex article on piezoelectric crystals in orgone devices.
Magnetic and paramagnetic crystals sit right in the middle of this architecture. They do not replace the piezoelectric engine. Instead they tune and shape it. Strongly magnetic minerals such as Magnetite act as anchors that couple the device more firmly into Earth’s geomagnetic field. Paramagnetic minerals such as certain Garnets, Peridot or copper-rich stones contribute more subtle pull and alignment, helping the matrix “grip” and digest incoming electromagnetic noise.
Because neodymium magnets are already present in many advanced orgone designs, there is a continuous interaction between their fields and the magnetic susceptibilities of the crystals. Lines of flux concentrate through particular stones, are modulated by their metal ions and crystal structure, and then spread back into the surrounding metal layers. This dynamic helps determine whether a pyramid feels intensely grounding, strongly protective, more heart centred or more mental and clarifying.
For EMF-sensitive people this is not an abstract theory. It is often felt as a very obvious difference between more basic orgone devices and those that incorporate Magnetite, Haematite, Malachite or Pyrite in more considered, engineered ways. The former may feel pleasant. The latter often feel like they are actively holding, absorbing and reorganising environmental stress, especially when combined with radionics discs, and sacred measure wirework.
The Magnetic Susceptibility Index lists hundreds of gemstones with measured responses. From an orgone perspective, several groups are particularly interesting.
Not all of these will be suitable for every orgone device, and raw magnetism alone is not the only selection criterion. Energetic coherence with other metaphysical properties incorporated is of paramount importance, in order to avoid creating “crystal chaos”, or “orgone chaos” where conflicting energies are present. I’ve seen many orgones which may appear aesthetically similar to Quantum Vortex pieces to the untrained eye, which when analysed with a close, scientific eye, are energetically chaotic!
Amongst the many crystals in my A-Z Index frequently used on Quantum Vortex Orgone creations, several minerals stand out for their combination of magnetic behaviour and metaphysical usefulness in orgonite-style devices.
Together these eight minerals illustrate the full arc from strongly magnetic through subtly paramagnetic to structurally responsive. When they are consciously combined with piezoelectric crystals, Shungite, layered metals and neodymium magnets in a coherent orgone design, the result is a piece that participates in an intelligent harmonisation with both your biofield and your technological environment.
Crystals can show measurable magnetic behaviour when exposed to strong neodymium magnets. Some respond only subtly, while others visibly move or can even be picked up. This effect comes from metal ions within the crystal lattice and is a documented scientific property rather than a spiritual metaphor.
Diamagnetic stones are weakly repelled by magnets and often appear inert. Paramagnetic stones contain unpaired electrons that create gentle attraction. Strongly magnetic stones such as Magnetite show true ferromagnetism and can cling firmly to a magnet.
Magnetic crystals subtly influence how fields move through and around the body. By concentrating or diverting magnetic flux and interacting with ambient EMFs, they can feel grounding, clarifying or buffering. Inside an orgone device these effects blend with the wider energetic matrix to create a more structured field.
Quartz and coils generate and organise subtle electrical charge, but magnetic minerals determine how the device couples with Earth’s field and how effectively it processes incoming EMFs. They add grounding, stability and directional flow so the orgone matrix does more than just move energy, it also aligns and structures it.
Not always. Strongly magnetic stones provide anchoring and EMF absorption, but gentler paramagnetic stones can be better suited to heart-centred or mental-field work. The most effective orgone devices use balanced, coherent combinations rather than simply aiming for maximum magnetism. Shungite is also extremely effective, and rarely magnetic, except when containing trace iron.
Shungite and Black Tourmaline already offer strong EMF support, and Tourmaline also helps drive the piezoelectric engine. Magnetic minerals add a further dimension by shaping how fields move through the device. Combining them with Magnetite, Haematite, Malachite or Pyrite creates a more complete system for absorbing, aligning and stabilising environmental energy.
As with all forms of energetic practice, including the use of crystals and orgone devices, the properties described here are intended for informational and spiritual purposes only and should complement, not replace, professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
